Artists/ Writers
The dialogue with artists exploring the dynamics of biological and physical constellations and the impact of media representations is an important complement to the CAS’ reflections on force focusing the history of ideas and concepts. How are forces today artistically modelled, represented and simulated? Which strategies do artists develop to intensify or break forces reflectively? At the same time, the artists' involvement in the Fellow Program broadens the horizon for artistic reflection both historically and conceptually. How do artists* situate their own work within the long history of images, texts, sounds and concepts of natural and artistic forces? In order to approach these questions, artists in residence will be invited who contribute to the joint research in terms of artistic research and thus extend the CAS’ range of activities beyond a genuinely academic exchange.
In the summer term 2025 we welcome Simone Kessler as Artist in Residence.
In the summer term 2024, Ton Matton was Artist in Residence at the CAS.
