The workshop »Connecting Forces: The Energies of Art« examines, from a comparative Chinese and European perspective, the forces inherent in the visual arts between ca. 1000 BC and the 20th century. The workshop is led by Frank Fehrenbach and Jasmin Mersmann; participants are young Chinese researchers. The two-and-a-half-day workshop will be held at Shanghai International Studies University as the inaugural event of the Chinese World Arthistory Institute (led by LaoZhu, Peking University and Lianming Wang, SISU Hong Kong University).
