New Fellow in the Winter Term: Christiane Frey

We welcome our new fellow Prof. Dr. Christiane Frey at the CAS »Imaginaria of Force«. Christiane Frey is Professor of German at Johns Hopkins University and Co-Director of the Max Kade Center for Modern German Thought. Her research and teaching focuses on early modern literature, astronomy, and religion; political theologies and the Baroque mourning play; literary and medical anthropology; possible worlds; micrologies of knowledge; literary ecologies and theories of secularization. During her research stay at the CAS from October 2024 to January 2025, she will investigate the topic »Invisible Forces: Of Orbits, Ellipses, and the Occult in 17th-Century Europe«.
