Announcement: 15./16.05.2025 Symposium »Moving Bodies – Hidden Knowledge Energies and Ecologies of Corporeal Practices around 1900«
14 April 2025
At the threshold of the 20th century, a cross-disciplinary fascination emerges with the moving body as a locus of knowledge creation. Between medical disciplines and artistic domains, the body is conceptualized as an element within complex networks connecting organism and environment. Corporeal practices evolve into figurations where forces and energies materialize, simultaneously enriching and transforming artistic and scientific epistemological paradigms. The symposium investigates these reciprocal relationships and illuminates how bodily movement functions as both spatial and epistemic transgression. It centers on practices that reveal the body as a resonance chamber for latent knowledge and dissolve the boundaries between subjective experience and objective understanding.
