Farewell: Gerd Micheluzzi

1 October 2026

We bid farewell to our research associate, Dr. Gerd Micheluzzi, who, after five years at the CAS, is leaving the Elbe for the Rhine and setting out for new horizons: He will take up a position as a research associate at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, specializing in early modern art and affiliated with the Chair of Italian Art History (Prof. Dr. Hui Luan Tran) at the Department of Art History, Institute of Art History and Musicology. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to him for his profound scholarly work, as well as for the many stimulating conversations and ideas he has shared with us. We are very pleased that he will remain closely connected with the CAS as an associate member and as co-editor of the »Wörterbuch der Kräfte«, the edited volume »Beyond Strength«, and the special issue »Tractive Forces« in the journal »Medieval and Early Modern Material Culture Online«. We wish him all the very best and continued success during his time in Mainz!
