Curriculum
Caroline Herfert studied theatre, film, and media studies, as well as Arabic studies at the University of Vienna. Amongst other activities, she collaborated on the science historical exhibition and publication project “Wissenschaft nach der Mode”? during her studies. From 2009–2011, she was a staff member of Don Juan Archiv Wien. 2011–2014 she carried out her PhD project as a DOC-scholarship holder of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, project employee at the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies (TFM) and associate of the DFG project “Global Theatre Histories” at the University of Munich, investigating the Austrian vogue of the Orient in Vienna around 1900. After finishing her doctoral studies (2015), she was a scientific employee at the Research Centre “Hamburg’s (Post-)colonial Legacy” at the University of Hamburg (2016–2018). Since March 2019, she is the Academic Coordinator of the CAS “Imaginaria of Force”.
